Surviving as a Non-Computer Science Major Developer

#1. Prologue

COVID-19 (hereinafter referred to as Corona), which struck us in 2019, changed our daily lives, which had been accustomed to offline activities.

[Non-CS Major, Surviving as a Developer] 1. Prologue

With social distancing guidelines implemented to prevent the spread of Corona, lectures, meetings, and gatherings shifted to online formats, leading to the launch of various IT services and increased investments.

Along with the launch of IT services, the demand for personnel to develop these services surged, and IT companies were actively engaged in a period known as 'developer recruitment'.

As a result, interest in IT developers increased among many job seekers and professionals from other fields, leading to the implementation of numerous educational programs and workforce training policies.

When looking at developer communities, it's common to see many questions about study methods for becoming a developer and preparation for job applications. A prominent example is the frequent inquiries from individuals who are non-computer science majors (non-majors) seeking guidance on how to prepare for a career as a developer.

Therefore, this book provides guidance on how to approach becoming a developer from the perspective of a complete beginner to IT. It defines the role of a developer, establishes a study plan, and provides basic information necessary for job hunting. This information can then be used to quickly identify and implement methods that best suit each individual.

We have strived to simplify complex concepts and explain them in a clear and accessible manner. Moreover, we haven't limited ourselves to simply providing information; instead, we have included various examples from the perspective of a job seeker to facilitate easier understanding and application of the information.

We hope that readers who encounter this book will leverage the information provided here, create their own personalized guide, and experience the joy of successfully landing a developer job.
