In this post, I'll be talking about Odaiba, the first area I visited in Japan!
I purchased the Odaiba One-Day Pass.
If I recall correctly, the Odaiba One-Day Pass cost 820 yen. The Odaiba Line stations are above ground,
so you can enjoy beautiful ocean views from the train. The scenery is great, so I recommend using the One-Day Pass to visit all the attractions
that are accessible!
Interestingly, the front of the train looks like this!
It's not the driver's seat, but a regular seat, and it's considered a prime spot, apparently.
When you get off at Odaiba Station, you'll immediately see the Rainbow Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.
It wasn't as large as I expected, but the surrounding scenery was so beautiful that it's definitely a must-visit photo spot.
Many Chinese tourists were taking pictures right in front of it, and also asking others to take pictures for them in Chinese... hahaha
This is the Rainbow Bridge right behind it.
Many people visit at night to see the illuminated view, but on a clear day, you can enjoy a different kind of beauty
while sightseeing :D
Right in front of it, there's a park similar to the Hangang Park (Han River Park), where you can see many people exercising and relaxing.
Sega Joypolis, located near the Odaiba Rainbow Bridge.
You can pay a basic entrance fee and pay separately for the general arcade games and attractions, or
you can purchase an unlimited ride pass for 3,900 yen to experience all the attractions.
Since it was a weekday, I thought there wouldn't be many people waiting, so I purchased the unlimited ride pass!
Initial D, which I enjoyed the most.
The gameplay is the same as the Initial D in a regular arcade, but the car actually moves in the direction of your drift.
It's the same game, but with an added thrill!
The Transformers ride that spins you around @_@.
There were also some 4D experiences that felt a bit underwhelming, and some that followed the storyline of anime, but...
due to my lack of Japanese language skills...
I think I've experienced most of the rideable attractions.
What surprised me was the presence of a high-speed train, albeit a short one, inside?
And for lunch, I went to Kushiya Monogatari (串家物語) at the Odaiba DiverCity Tokyo Plaza.
It's known as a tempura buffet. The unique thing is that you can fry your own tempura...?
You can fry a variety of meats and vegetables, including different types of meat and vegetables.
They also have a wide selection of desserts.
Honestly, I ate only tempura and it got a bit greasy, so I desperately wanted a beer, but...
I couldn't go around drunk in the middle of the day, so I passed... haha
The price per person is 1,500 yen (excluding tax), and drinks like cola cost an additional 200 yen.
Basic drinks like coffee are included :D
And that concludes my first day's sightseeing in Odaiba.
Combining the stunning scenery and the thrilling experiences at Joypolis,
it was a pretty satisfying sightseeing trip :D
Budget-friendly Japan travel! Stay tuned for the rest of my journey!
